Neuroscience & Immuno-Metabolism Laboratory
Investigating how dietary inputs modulate neuro-immune interactions — to understand their role in neurological and metabolic health.
Dr. Mohit Kumar leads the NeuroMeT Lab at BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI), Mohali. His research spans nutritional neuroscience, neuroimmunology, and immunometabolism — with a focus on how dietary inputs modulate neuroimmune pathways to influence metabolic and neurological health.
Our lab pursues three interconnected research areas that together address how nutrition and metabolism shape neuroimmune health and disease.
We investigate how shifts in cellular and systemic metabolism reprogram neuroimmune responses — exploring the metabolic checkpoints, signalling cascades, and immune–brain axes that govern neurological health and disease susceptibility.
Neuroimmunology · Immunometabolism
We study how ketogenic diets and specific nutritional strategies modulate brain immunity, stress, and aging — investigating the therapeutic potential of dietary regimens and bioactive compounds across neurological and metabolic conditions.
Nutritional Neuroscience · Precision Nutrition
We explore the neural and immune mechanisms that drive compulsive eating behaviours and food preference — examining how brain reward circuits, neuroimmune signalling, and metabolic states interact to shape feeding behaviour and its disorders.
